FEMA Flood Hazard Integration for Engineering and Permitting
A reusable bridge between authoritative flood data and an engineering drawing that began without a usable geographic coordinate system.
The interoperability problem
An engineering team needed to understand how proposed electrical work related to FEMA-designated flood hazard areas. The authoritative FEMA National Flood Hazard Layer and the existing CAD plan existed in different spatial environments.

BGPD aligned the non-georeferenced plan using site features and control references, extracted applicable FEMA features and adapted them for engineering review.
